Lincoln City, Here we Come!

We happened to have President's Day off, so we jumped in the car and headed to Lincoln City for some fun on the beach. The weather was perfect, no rain, not too cold, and not overcast. This was the first time Kennedy got to walk on the beach, and for a little one who had only been walking for about a month, she did pretty darn good! Addison had fun jumping and stomping on all of the patches of sea foam that was carried in by the tide. We got some great pictures and had a nice day as a family.

Kennedy Celebrates Her 1st Birthday!

Kennedy turned 1 years old 2/3/10 and she celebrated in style with a custom made fondant present cake made by me. This was the first time Kennedy has ever eaten cake and as you can tell, I think she likes it! We celebrated Kennedy's birthday with our family who joined us for cake and presents. Kennedy finally got the hang of opening presents toward the and and she was having a blast! Miss Kennedy received lots of cute new spring clothes, some great toys, books, and much more!

Fun Times!!!

One Sunday morning when I was getting ready for the day and Addison was downstairs coloring while Brian made breakfast, Addison decided to give herself some purple eyeshadow. She did a pretty good job if I do say so myself! It matched her Flapper dress so well that we put it on and did a photo shoot.

Meanwhile, Kennedy is being her silly self crawling around like a puppy with either a sock, shoe, or toy in her mouth. Kennedy has decided her new favorite thing is to crawl up the stairs. At the moment of the pictures, Kennedy is on the verge of walking, but just hasn't gotten brave enough to let go of things for more than a few steps.

Learning to Play the Wii

Addison has recently shown interest in playing the Wii that we have had for some time, but it has been collecting dust. So, Brian got it out and showed Addison how to play boxing on the Wii. She is quite good at it. Now she wants to get the Wii fit, as she saw the commercial of them doing yoga and she proceeds to stand in the yoga position from the commercial and says I want to play that. It is too cute! I think we could all benefit from the Wii fit :)

Addison's 1st Trip to the Beauty Parlor

We finally decided that Addison needed to have a professional hair cut, so we took her to see my beautician of 10 years, Sharol. Addison was so good, she sat very still and even let Sharol curl her hair after the cut. Her hair turned out very cute and mommy and daddy couldn't help but take pictures to document the event!

Sledding on Mt. Hood

The day after Christmas the Burleigh and the Stahl family drove up to Mt. Hood, to the Snow Bunny for some good old fashioned sledding. Brian and Addison had lots of fun sledding, while Kennedy and I observed. Yes, that's right, I was too chicken to go sledding myself. Maybe next year I will be more brave!

Christmas 2009

For Christmas 2009, the Burleigh family spent Christmas Eve at my Grandma Shari's house with my mother's side of the family. We had a nice turkey and ham dinner. Addison got to play with her 2nd cousin while the rest of the family chatted and got to meet Kennedy for the first time. The girls opened a few presents before we headed home to put out milk and cookies for Santa. Then off to bed to get a good night's rest before Santa arrived.

Addison was so cute, she woke up and said that she heard the reindeer on the roof but she didn't hear Santa say "Ho Ho Ho"! The girls were showered with gifts, and I think Kennedy had more fun with the bows and wrapping paper than the actual gifts, as is pretty typical for a first Christmas I think. Then we spent the afternoon playing games and enjoying brunch at the Stahl residence, which was lots of fun.

Addison Turns 3!

Wow, I can't believe how fast time flies by! Addison turned 3 years old on 12/14/09, I can't believe our baby is now a big girl. Addison has grown so much over the past 3 years. She is a sweet, energetic, happy, and loving girl. Addison has adapted well to being a sister and loves to play with Kennedy every chance she gets. We had a bit of a rough patch, called the "terrible 2s" and seriously, the day she turned 3 it was like it never happened. Addison loves My Little Ponies (she can name them all just by looking at them), the TV shows Caillou and Yo Gabba Gabba, all of the Disney Princesses, she loves to dress up, and she is quite the baker. Addison's drawing skills are really developing, it is amazing to see her go from scribbles to actual figures with arms and legs and all of the details. We have an amazing little girls on our hands and we wouldn't change a thing about her!

For Addison's 3rd birthday, we had family and a few of her friends over for chicken enchiladas, cake, and presents. It was a bit chaotic, but a good time was had by all.
