A Greenthumb in Texas.

As many of you may know, we didn't do a great deal of gardening in Oregon, but we are trying to develop a greenthumb here in Texas. This past Sunday we went to Calloways, a local nursery, and bought a few dozen flowers to plant in the front yard and a few for hanging baskets and pots. After much thought, we decided to go with a white, purple and yellow theme. It only took a few hours of digging, replacing soil, and planting flowers to make a tremendous improvement and the results were good. Although we still have lots more to do to achieve our desired results, we are thrilled with the progress we have made thus far. We decided to start small and see how things went before throwing a bunch of money away, as we have not had the best of luck in the past with our gardening. Now that we have broke ground we are ready to move forward with bigger and better projects. Beginning this weekend Brian wants get back to our roots (no pun intended) and start a garden in the backyard so we can grow our own herbs, fruits, and vegetables, not to mention Brian has plans to begin growing his own hops for his microbrews beginning next spring.
